Results of a survey carried out by Kantar for OFCOM with the support of the ICO reveals clear concerns about the impact of online data breaches.
Surveyed over the summer of 2018, respondents concerned about data privacy were most worried about financial loss and fraud, along with identity theft. This coincides with several major stories in the press at the time relating to financial data being stolen in several major data breaches, including Carphone Warehouse and Ticketmaster.
The full report is a revealing insight into the current levels of anxiety felt about online risks, both to personal data, and to the welfare of people, particularly children.
