Deluge Of GDPR Cases Anticipated By Commentators

GDPR Report recently wrote about the "phoney war" that seems to have followed GDPR coming into force, however they believe that this is set to change.

The length of time to prepare court cases will be contributing to the apparent lack of action, but they warn that there are indications that there is a deluge on its way.

"It would be a mistake to assume that the relatively modest level of court activity since May 25th when the GDPR came into force is a sign of things to follow. After all, it takes time to prepare a legal case, and very little time has elapsed since the end of May. More cases are surely set to follow." read more.

It is certainly tempting in this quiet phase to think that GDPR is just "another Y2K" or not going to really affect organisations in any real way, but this is a dangerous belief. Being unprepared for Data Breach management and handling Subject Access Requests will cost time and reputation, not to mention money, as they start to be investigated.

The best response is prevention and preparation. Our PYXI software for GDPR helps you get prepared on your compliance journey, managing your Article 30 record keeping, and preparing for SARs and Breach reporting, saving you time, money and worry.
